END THE NINE O'CLOCK RESTRICTION Regular or occasional visitors to St. Peter's RFC will be aware that we operate with a full drinks licence but are prevented from trading past 9pm due to a restriction in our planning. Sign a petition to show your support to end this restriction. St.Peter's RFC in Cardiff, currently has a trading restriction imposed upon it by Cardiff City Council which prevents it from opening beyond 9pm. As a result of this planning restriction, which has been in place since we opened over three years ago, we are unable to hold any events which require us to stay open beyond this time. This is clearly preventing St. Peter's (one of the oldest rugby clubs in Wales) from trading effectively, raising funds and working with and for the local community. Since opening we have offered Bingo, Quiz Nights and regular Coffee Mornings. Due to the planning restrictions both the weekly community Bingo and the monthly Quiz Nights no longer occur. Members and local residents do not wish to attend an event which is over by 8.45 in order to leave the building by 9. Both activities had initially been well supported and provided good quality, comfortable entertainment for the community. This restriction is preventing the club from trading effectively. We have formally appealed to the council twice and both times been rejected. We are appealing against this restriction once more. Please sign our petition which will help demonstrate your support. Once you have signed your petition, please email / contact your friends to also show their support for this amendment to the planning restrictions. If you would rather not sign the petition online, we also have a 'hard-copy' petition available at the club. Please only sign one or the other, but not both. |
